2050, we see it clearly that the seeds were already planted. It was a matter of time for the Matriarchy to fully flourish. It is spring again, and we are back, stronger than ever, to govern the world under feminist principles. In our shared decision-making process, there is only one thing we haven’t fully agreed upon yet: What To Do With Men?

“What to do with men?” is a partnership between Feminist Futures and One Day in 2050.
This book is an invitation to women and non-binary speculative futurists and storytellers to imagine a matriarchal version of 2050. After everything that men have done over centuries against the planet, women, children, and themselves, what is, after all, their place in a feminist, egalitarian, and just society?
Authors will be invited to participate in monthly workshops (from February to May) to explore futures methods and speculative storytelling techniques, and provide peer-to-peer feedback as they develop their worlds, characters, and stories.
This edition is inspired by “The Emancipation”, a text written by Thays Prado for the 2050 Books publication. Read it here.
Genre: Speculative fiction
Length: Around 1,000 words
Deadline for submitting the text: May 31, 2026.
